We make a 1,5 hour boat ride up the river. We get out of the boat and start walking up to the top of a small mountain (about 550 steps) to the 700 years old temple where we enjoy the scenery. When we come back down we have lunch before returning to Dalmanuta.

We start early in the morning and after about three hours we come to the entrance of the rainforest and the Singharaja natural reserve. We spend about three hours walking through the forest and then we have lunch before we get back home.

We go south along the coast. We stop at the sea turtle rescue project, and in Hikkadua we take a ride with glass bottom boat to the coral reef. After lunch we go on to the old Dutch fort at Galle which is one of UNESCO’s World Heritage Sites. We take a walk on the wall facing the ocean, passing the lighthouse and then walk through the old streets with their colourful buildings before we stop for tea at the Grand hotel. On the way back we visit a gemstone mine, a mask and a batik factory.

We visit Barefoot, Majestic City , Odell, Rasisilk and Crescat where you can find Sri Lankan products of the best quality as well as international brands at very affordable prices. We have lunch in the city before we go back home.

We visit the most famous garden in Sri Lanka , only 15 minutes away, where we spend some time admiring the very beautiful scenery, we have a cup of tea at the veranda with present owner Doland de Silva who has helped us in making our own garden and then we go back home.

We go visit our local temple where you get an insight into the special style of Sri Lankan Buddhism with it’s incorporation of several Hindu Goods. You will also get a special blessing from a special monk.

We go up and down the river with our boat and an experienced guide or out to sea with a deep-sea fishing boat.
